A Trip to the Hospital

Posted on August 1, 2006, 10:29 pm EST

I went to the kitchen and wanted to drink water, but the water machine's bottle was empty. So being a good person and all, i wanted to refill the plastic gallon.

So here I come with the empty water gallon. I place it on the sink, and turn on the filter ( our filter is a cylinderical metal container which sits on the sink ). The water is filling up the gallon and while getting heavy i moved the gallon a bit to get the grip.

All I saw is that while I was moving it around, the filter container jumped of from its spot and hit something, and that something was a water glass jug ( the arabic ones which holds 1 liter ). It slammed against that glass jug and I was trying to save it before falling down but it shattered so hard and fast on my hand and myself. The glass went all over the ground and on the oven and table ( all little peices ).

I looked at myself, and I saw blood pooring like crazy. Two of my fingers got sliced very deep and some glass shatterd on my foot. I looked at my hand and saw some glass lying there. I took as much as I can and tried to stop the bleeding but couldn't. The cut was around 1.5 cm wide and 0.5 cm think. I covered it up and went to my uncle to drive me to the hospital.

I arrived there at 6:30 PM and went directly to emergency since there is glass inside my skin and it is killing me. At 8:30PM I saw the doctor, and he gave me shots and freezed my hand. It was a gore like experience seeing him wondering around inside my hand. He took out the glass, stiched it up, and gave me some shots.

It was a fun time at the hospital, as usual I talk alot and the doctor looks like Matt Damon. As usual I talked about computers and discussed the gore like experience of what is happening to my hand.

I am okay now, but It is hard for me to program :( I have to take some days off programming :'(. But I will be back on track once I take off my stiches!
